Description

Candy Cane Lush is a festive, no-bake dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, a creamy peppermint cream cheese layer, white chocolate pudding, and festive crushed candy canes for a refreshing holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 36 Oreo cookies (14 oz package)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (1/2 stick)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed (from 12 oz carton)
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.3 oz each) packages white chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk

Topping

  • 11 oz whipped topping, thawed (remaining from 12 oz carton)
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy canes (remaining)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Crust: In a food processor, pulse Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Add salt and melted butter and pulse just until combined. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Chill in refrigerator while preparing filling.
  2. Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add powdered sugar and milk and continue to beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping and 1/2 cup crushed candy canes. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  3. Prepare Pudding Layer: In a clean bowl, whisk together white chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened. Spread pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Top Dessert: Spread remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer to cover completely. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or foil and chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours to set.
  5. Serve: Before serving, sprinkle the remaining crushed candy canes over the top for a festive garnish. Enjoy your Candy Cane Lush!

Notes

  • This is a no-bake dessert making it quick and easy to prepare.
  • Use regular Oreos or gluten-free alternatives if dietary restrictions apply.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • Crushed candy canes can be adjusted for more or less peppermint flavor.
  • For best results, chill the dessert overnight to allow layers to set well.
  • If white chocolate pudding mix is unavailable, vanilla pudding mix with added melted white chocolate can be used as a substitute.
